Wia Corrinne Musick Fosters Harmonious Retail Relations At Sportsheets

Known to colleagues as “Rin,” Musick joined the Sportsheets team two years ago, in January 2024. Her official title is Brand Ambassador, a role that takes her from her home base in Columbus, Ohio, to sales trainings and trade shows across the country, where she interacts with retailers and buyers.

I want to leave a positive mark, not just through the products and trainings I share, but through the relationships I build and the communities I support.

Fortunately, she enjoys life on the road. Most of her time is spent on the sales floors of Sportsheets’ ground-level partners.

“I love that my work is built on connections,” says Musick. “Whether it’s meeting retail staff face-to-face, brainstorming with my colleagues or presenting at a trade show, I thrive on the relationships that are built in this role.”

Since landing with the premier BDSM brand, Musick says, she has benefited hugely from the influence and guidance of female colleagues, from B2B clients to CEOs.

“The pleasure industry is filled with talented, ambitious women who support each other and lead intentionally,” she affirms. “From my early days in adult retail, I was mentored by women who patiently explained brands and products, entrusted me with leadership and encouraged my growth. Joining a company led by iconic women who welcomed me so generously was a continuation of that support.

“Women are the driving force behind inclusivity, change and success in this industry,” Musick adds. “I’m deeply grateful to stand among them.”

Before joining the ranks of traveling pleasure product experts, Musick spent 10 years in corporate finance, reviewing IRAs and 401Ks. During a career break, a friend suggested she apply for a part-time job at The Garden, a well-known Midwestern adult retail store.

Musick started as a night clerk in 2015, worked her way up to a management role by 2018 — and along the way, found herself surprised by the amount of pure joy she experienced just executing her daily tasks.

“For the first time, I felt a real sense of purpose in my work,” says Musick. “I loved the everyday conversations with customers, helping them find the right products and creating a welcoming space where people felt safe and supported.”

The Garden was operated and managed by sex-positive women, who had a big influence on Musick.

“It wasn’t just a store; it was a community hub,” she recalls. “We built a strong, passionate team and gained a reputation for being knowledgeable, open and deeply connected to the people around us.”

Musick gained experience as a buyer, built friendships with manufacturer reps and found her forever career in the sex toy industry. When The Garden closed in 2023, she knew she couldn’t leave that path behind.

“When the opportunity with Sportsheets opened up, it felt serendipitous,” recalls Musick. “I had always loved selling Sportsheets products, so making the leap to this side of the industry was an easy decision. It felt like coming home to a brand whose values aligned with my own.”

Beyond store trainings and trade shows, Musick educates and entertains through her YouTube series and live online retail video trainings. She has also recently taken on account management, allowing her to deepen the interpersonal work that initially inspired her to leave the corporate financial world years ago.

“What I really love about this position is the opportunity to bridge gaps,” she enthuses. “I get to connect our sales, marketing and product development teams with the people on the retail side who are directly helping customers discover our products.”

Unsurprisingly, the blue-haired Musick treats her career like an art form. Driven by seemingly endless opportunities for creative growth, she switches between tasks on any given day: designing training sessions, recording educational content, collaborating on ideas with sales or marketing, and jumping on planes to land in new cities.

Musick considers herself fortunate in her career.

“The common thread is that I get to share products I believe in with people who are just as passionate about pleasure and education,” she muses. “That mix of creativity, travel and advocacy is something I’ve always dreamed of.”

After weathering numerous market fluctuations and trends, the strongest pull of the sex toy universe for Musick remains the friendships she’s developed. Asked to name her favorite aspect of life in the pleasure industry, Musick tells XBIZ, “Without a doubt, it’s the sense of camaraderie.”

“There’s something special about being surrounded by people who are not only passionate about what they do, but also committed to making the world a better, more inclusive place through their work,” she explains. “Every time I walk into a room full of industry peers, it feels like home.”

As the new year looms ahead, Musick is hopeful that she’ll continue to see the industry support those who need representation the most: namely women, folks under the LGBTQ+ umbrella and anyone who feels their voice has been drowned out.

“I’m incredibly proud of how visible inclusion efforts have become,” she says. “More and more companies are intentionally choosing their products, packaging and marketing to make sure that people of different backgrounds, identities and experiences feel recognized. Representation matters, and seeing it grow across the industry is a powerful step forward.”

In the near future, Musick plans to focus on doing more of what she does best: building strong, genuine connections across the industry with everyone from distribution partners to retail teams.

“I’m committed to providing the best service and education I can,” she says. “I’m also focused on improving my skills and exploring new ways to collaborate and innovate.”

Whether she’s on the road or working from her home office in Ohio, Musick’s drive to help others discover what they need — whether it’s the right product or a supportive sex-ed mentor — makes her a valuable addition to the Women in Adult pantheon.

“At the heart of it, my goal is to keep pushing forward the missions of pleasure, education and inclusion,” Musick concludes. “I want to leave a positive mark, not just through the products and trainings I share, but through the relationships I build and the communities I support.”
